It is good to eat red meats at least once a week. The preparation or cooking them are various, for steaks depending on the cuts. I think for daily meals cooking steaks is suitable. Steaks are easy to prepare, what you need is the garnish. They are perfect for a quick fix.
To cook steaks; the hot pan is essential, rub the fat-butter or oil on the steak. The thickness of the cut, the way you like to eat them determine how long you have to cook (from rare steaks to well done).

To serve steaks and garnishes, I think the simplest garnish would be the best. We understand better to have a healthy life style. Steaks served with very rich sauces are not acceptable for the daily meal, and also sauces are very time consuming to prepare. Pesto, mushrooms or the jus are the best garnishes. Salad or vegetables have to be served with the steak.
Less than ten minutes to prepare and to serve, cooking for two-four people.
Scotch fillet steak, or porterhouse steak.
Time for dinner is After Six o'clock.
Procedures:
6.11 - 6.14 pm to cook the steaks (standard cuts) rest in 3-6 minutes (keep on a warm plate, covered with foil)
6.12 - organise the salad and the mushrooms
6.14 - to make the jus - deglaze the pan, add cubes butter keep aside then cook the mushrooms
6.15 - 19 to cook garnishes - the rosti, keep them hot
6.17 - check the steak, take the juice of the steak, and add it into the sauce
6.19 - to serve individually, or put everything on the table and let people help them self
6.20 - to start the dinner
Things to remember: what you need to be organised:
- wash the salad green and refrigerated
- have three minutes to peel and to grate the potatoes
- multitasks; cooking the jus and cooking the mushrooms on another pan.
In nine minutes, you could cook and serve the steaks.
- Pan fried steak served with jus, sutéed mushrooms, rosti and garnished with green salad!.
