Rose Lovers

Cut Roses  To  Cooking

Roses are best known as ornamental plants grown for their flowers in the garden and sometimes indoors. They have also been used for commercial perfumery and commercial cut flower crops. Some are used as landscape plants, for hedging etc.

Rose water, made as a byproduct of rose oil production, is widely used in Asian and Middle Eastern cuisine.

The rose hips the fruit of some species, is used as a secondary source of Vitamin C. Rose hips can make a good jam, jelly and marmalade and rose hips are brewed for tea because of their high vitamin C content. (wkp)

Roses can be used for flavouring syrup, such as rose cordial.  In my kitchen, I use the petals for garnishes and for cooking.  Apple - Rose Petal Muffin is one of them.

This cooking is dedicated to all rose lovers, I invite you all to celebrate the beauty of roses not only for flower arrangement, the fragrances,  adorning the gardens but also for indulging our palates.
