Greens - Vegetables

Enjoy Green Vegetables

It is essential to have greens,  vegetables.  Most of us don't like the taste, but we eat them anyway because they are suitable for our health.  So many ways to prepare greens.  From salad, pies and stews.  Salads, as mixed leafy greens, Pie as a spinach egg pie,  stew as green curries. 

We know that a balanced diet is a must.  Pastries and meat dishes are better if they are served with a leafy greens salad.

Fried Meat Balls With Herbs
They Go Well with Salad Greens

Leafy Greens Salad

1 cup of endives
1 cup of lamb lettuce
1 cup of cos lettuce, chopped
1 tablespoon chopped parsley
1 tablespoon chopped chives
Place all ingredients in a large bowl, add in the dressing
Toss and mix gently, serve salad at once.

The dressing
2 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
salt to taste
Place all ingredient in a small bowl, stir to mix thoroughly


Fresh Herbs and Spinach


Sautéed green beans can taste better if they are added with freshly squeezed lime at the last seconds of cooking.  It brings out the freshness of the seeds and the flavours too.  Eating flavoursome and beautiful bright green colour of beans is very enjoyable.

Avocado has a green colour and contains a lot of vegetable protein, have it as a salad or a drink.

Mix some cooked greens with rice so the kids can enjoy them too, so many tricks that we can do to make the children like greens.
