Home baked cupcakes are a winner, my children used to take them to school for their play lunches. Cupcakes are trendy now more than ever. From mini cakes, standard cupcakes to Jumbo cupcakes. Lovely cupcakes with beautiful icing are so festive, excellent for children or adults party. It is good to have beautiful cakes for a special occasion.
I decided to have the practice to decorate cupcakes, I struggled, could not do it right, even though I used very basic icing. I had no problem with icing preparation.
First, I have to beat the soft butter until pale and fluffy, then add in soft icing sugar and some milk to make the buttercream icing. Lastly, add in the pink colour.
Preparation and Decorating Cake
First piping work I did; the results don't look bad, but I do need more practice or even lessons.
Butter Cream Icing
Ingredients:
The 250g soft icing sugar mixture
2 tablespoons milk
Method
Using an electric mixer beat the butter in a bowl until pale
Gradually add icing sugar mixture, and milk
Beating constantly until combined.
I was not sure what I had to do, I found it is not easy and but messy. Pastry chefs are marvellous, their works are so demanding and hard. They have skills with total precision, accuracy, discipline and patience to achieve their excellent result. I have very high respect for them.
Decorating cakes is not for everyone, well it is not for me. I keep on learning to do basic decorating.
