Tofu - Tahu

Bakwan Tahu.

Bakwan Tahu is a fritter made out of tofu mix with mung bean sprouts, good cooking from Java.   Delicious vegetarian food can be served at any time, It is suitable for snacking.   Tofu is readily available here in Australia.   I got this fresh tofu from my daughter Melanie, I used some of it for cooking bakwan.
It has been so many years that I have not done this dish, but it worked out beautifully, it's very tasty, almost the same taste with bakwan that I used to eat in Java.

I add extra vegetables in my recipe, to give more texture.  The two main vegetables in bakwan are the mung bean sprouts and spring onions nothing else.

Bakwan Tahu

In Java, a lot of vendors in the street sell this delicious bakwan tofu, freshly fried. You can get it in the morning, afternoon and night.  Bakwan Tahu are often served with chilli sauce or simply fresh hot chillies
