Short and Sweet

Fried Biscuits

It is fun to make inexpensive biscuits which are suitable to serve with tea, coffee. It is enjoyable to have them with an alcoholic drink.

What you need is plain flour, eggs, cocoa powder, food colouring, brandy, sugar, icing powder and oil to fry with.  The basic mixture is for every one cup of flour you need one egg yolk two tablespoons of water, a cup of brandy, a tablespoon sugar.  The name of this biscuit is 'Elephant Ear.'
The process of making is short but sweet because it keeps fresh in an airtight jar for some time.

The one egg yolk biscuits are rather dense but delicious, if you prefer light and crunchy, use the whole egg, but cut down the water.

I love rainbow, I love colours.  Use colour as you wish, the biscuit mixture is the same, add colour whatever colour that you like.

Dust with icing powder sugar, soon after you took them out from the frying pan.  Dust one side only so you could see the pretty pattern of the biscuits.

Now it is a school holiday, have fun with the children, they can make them, and I am sure they like to eat it too. I believe it is good for them as they don't contain too much sugar.

It is excellent quality time together, the children will enjoy to roll them out, and you will do the frying.  Set up a  table for afternoon tea, serve cold drink along with the biscuits, and you may have your tea or coffee.  It is all fun.
