Delicious Food For a Cooler Spring Time
Stuffed cabbage, served hot or cold. Today was more refreshing springtime, it has been raining for the past few days, warmed stuffed cabbage was served for dinner, and it was delicious.
It dressed with fresh herb and olive oil, but it's good too, to be eating with leafy vegetable salad.
The recipe, look up older post.
Great food and delicious stuffed cabbage.

Another treat would be a ricotta cheese and leek pie using Susy's water pastry. It is delicious, light and of course, you need a salad to go with, I love it with rockets and green salad, dressed simply with lemon juice or mustard dressing.

A cake for a treat. I remember when we were in Europa, we tried this decadent chocolate cake, Sachertorte-Austrian chocolate cake. It was delish and so creamy. I could not afford to eat fatty and sweet cakes, so I tried to recreate the cake. I baked a chocolate sponge cake, filled up with jam (strawberry jam-home made of course), roll the sponge as a swiss roll, top it up with melted dark chocolate, dust with icing sugar, drizzle with a ribbon of chocolate, decorate with caramel chips.
Well, it is not as rich as the Sachertorte - Austrian cake, it is a rich dark chocolate cake, filled with apricot jam, and luscious dark chocolate on top.
The texture for sachertorte cake is slightly dense but moist enough, rich full of butter contents and the shape is round. Cut into wedges to serve.
Delicious chocolate roll cake with strawberry jam and chocolate/caramel topping.
The taste of the cake is similar but not even close to the sachertorte cake. |
We were happy enough though, we shared with our visitors, and they liked it, but they did not say much, maybe they never had the sachertorte.
I think my chocolate roll cake is good to have throughout the year, even on a hot day. There is no cream, but jam and chocolate, and the cake is actually only sponge.
No, there is no recipe to share with, at this stage. Maybe one day!
Have a good weekend
Until Next Post
