One Day

What A Day Makes.

Sometimes it is good to stop and relax to enjoy the day, however, to commit with daily activities, and yet expecting perfection in having a friendly and warm home, beautiful meals for the family and also wanting to have a lot more fun, out of the daily routines,  all these could be done, by being organised.

Have a part of the day set aside for food preparations that are needed for the next few days, homemaking such as flower arrangements for rooms in the house.  These are examples; cleaning salads leaves, gathering herbs that can supply the needs for a few days.  While picking herbs in the garden, pick some fresh flowers, any flowers that are available in the season.  In the meantime, while doing work around the house,  braising of fresh fruit is going to bake muffins for family breakfast, or for the children to take to school.   A lot more can be done on the same day, fancy butter for the spread of the sandwiches, it's a treat.  Now, enjoy the free time ahead.

Cleaning the Salad leaves
Wash the leafy vegetables then spin dry in a salad spinner
It keeps for three days at least

Gathering Herbs
Gather herbs, wash and dry then arrange it in a bowl of water,
use it as a lovely herbs arrangement in the meantime, while it is useful for cooking as well.

Braising fresh fruits to keep for baking when it is needed

Flowers Arrangement can last for a week to brighten up rooms.
The yellow Autumn leaves and the deep red rose to make a warm flower arrangement;

A day that can make a difference in your life. To be organised, a few days ahead of house chores and home duties.  That's the difference that a day makes.

In my front garden, the white camellias sasanqua are in blooms, beautiful and so serene, I could not help to pick a few for the house.  So so cute. Today is Mother's Day, I am thinking of all mothers and wishing you to have a very Happy Mother's Day.

On that note, I wish you all well, I am sure mothers are the experts to do multitasking in a day without fail.

  1. Hey Mum, they're really good tips. I'm going to implement some of them in a few months (er, I'll try) and let you know how I get on!
