Fresh Fruits

Fresh Fruit For Festive Feast

This is the time of the year that all of us can indulge in the fresh fruits in season or even the fresh tropical fruits.  I noticed varieties of fruit in the market or in the supermarket, from watermelons, cantaloupes, mangoes,  oranges, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries.  I don't need to do too much with fresh fruits, I serve them as they are.  But I do serve fresh fruits as garnishes,  such as serving the fresh fruits together with a piece of tart or as a topping for meringues and sponge cakes etc.  A classic way to serve fresh fruits is a platter of their collection, which is arranged beautifully.

Pavlova is another festive dessert, top it up with plenty of fresh fruits, and of course, don't forget the passion fruits.

This size of the pavlova -55 cm can be served for about 6 to 8 people.
For the topping you need a lot of fresh fruits: a cup of each of the following: strawberries, raspberries,  blueberries, sliced kiwi, and 5 passion fruits and for extra garnish for the top put some current red berries.  The pavlova will look extra festive.

To serve fresh fruits together with savouries, such as cantaloupe with prosciutto,  the tradition of an Italian dish.  Mango and papaw with prawns the tradition of an Asian dish.

I have come up with this idea, the crispy bonbon served on a bed of mango salad garnished with prawns and herb mayonnaise. This is a cute small entree and looks vibrant.  A delightful home cooking.

An appetiser that you could do is peeled fresh red and green grapes,  dressed with lime juice and garnished with segments of oranges.  It is so clean, light and very appetising.

I hope you like my ideas on how to use the best of fresh fruits.

Until next post
