Acer-Maple

Green and white are the theme colours of my front garden,  but it is adorned by foliage leaves of the Acer palmatum-Japanese maples, from spring to autumn.

Acer Palmatum-The Japanese Maples in early of October 2012
A Potted standard Dissectum Viridis (lime green)

Acer Palmatum:'Atropurpureum', dense and spreading, with dark purple
spring foliage giving way to paler olive-purple in summer and deep scarlet tone in autumn.

Another Japanese maple is in the backyard- Acer palmatum'Bloodgood',  it is a dwarf tree which I planted about nine years ago.   Today the height is about one metre.

A potted maple tree, planted from small seedling which was given by Michelle Darling.
A typical large maple tree.  However, because it is potted, after nine years, the growth is slow, and the plant remains very short.

Now we both enjoy the colour of spring in the garden, in winter, these maple trees lose the leaves, but I don't care about that, I let them be there to rot and become composts.  It is suitable for the ground and the plants.

Light trimming,  now and then is needed for the cosmetic appearance and fertilising has to be done every late winter-August.
Maple trees and Japanese maples are easy enough to care for.

More about the garden, stay tuned.

Thanks For Stopping By
Until Next Post
