Edible Flowers

Edible Flowers From My Garden

Flowers and herbs are very important part of my cooking.  Herbs give flavour and also enhance the freshness of any dishes.  Edible flowers are not only that you can eat them but they look very pretty on plates.  My cooking are always celebrated with beautiful, edible flowers.

The Edible Flowers

Left to Right
Dandelion, Nasturtium, Pansies, Nutmeg Geranium
Carnation-Dianthus, French Lavender, and Violet.


 Dandelion Salad with Crispy Bacon
The flower buds burst open during cooking, the sweet soft taste of the flowers,
balancing the bitterness of the young dandelion leaves.


Recipe

Dandelion Salad
12 dandelion flower buds
A handful young, tender, dandelion leaves
1 rasher bacon
Lemon Juice and oil dressing about a tablespoon.
Method
Wash dandelion flowers and laves and pat dry between paper towels.
Sliced and fry the bacon rasher is skillet until crisps
Remove bacon and drain on towels. 
Toss dandelion Flowers into the bacon fat and cook till buds burst open
In a bowl or a plate place the bacon, add in the dandelion leaves and flowers
Pour the dressing over all and toss lightly.
Serves for two people.
