Cooking And Garden

Spice Of The Day
Cumin is a large, purple-flowered plant that is cultivated
in the Arab countries, Greece, Sicily, and to a lesser degree, in the south of France.  Its oblong, yellowish seeds
yield a strong, unique, peppery taste.  Cumin is a hot note
in cooking, present in both curry and chilli powders.
Versatile, it can be used with meat, fish, or poultry.  Try it
over scrambled eggs or rice.
