Rayner

Today is Rayner's birthday, my master, and he is my husband.  I call him my master because he is truly a master.  The truth of a good mater is that you are a great servant too.  He is a good, faithful servant to us all (my family) that is why he is the master, my master.  He is always there for me, and family.

I am lucky enough that my children are home to help me to celebrate his special day.  Of course, not everyone can come home, Jane is so far away in the Netherlands and Mel, and the grandkids are unable to go for a day trip for various reasons.

The celebration is quite easy, just like my master’s personality, He is happy enough to be at home with the family.  I wish him to have a great day.  I love him well; we love him always.  Happy Birthday, Rayner!

The eve of his birthday, we had a high tea-a few of savouries and two sweets and also fresh fruits.  We had a good catch-up with the children, had an enjoyable evening also.

I will be cooking for my master’s special day, and I choose to do a roast, my adopted cooking favourite.  I have been doing roast cooking since the late seventies.  I love the idea of a practical way of cooking a roast. You can prepare and socialise at the same time.  While the roast is going, you could talk to the family, a straightforward and friendly thing to do. I know that in the time of serving a roast dinner, it is bustling, hectic etc.  But still, it is delightful.
