Winter

It is cold outside

In the backyard there is not much going on, no gardening to do, the cold winter started too soon, however cutting the grass has to be done regularly but not very often.  It is suitable for Rayner that he does not need to work too long in the cold winter,  to keep up with the mowing.
This time,  my citrus trees are giving me so much, the Tahitian limes laden with fruits this year, a matter of fact the fruits have been shared with a lot of friends, the kaffir lime has too many fruits, and I don't know what to do with them.  The leaves are excellent for cooking Asian dishes and the fruits, only the rind is used for cooking, they are not that useful.  The Lisbon lemons are starting to turn yellow, soon I will harvest them for the first time.

Tahitian Limes are turning yellow colour after some time,   ideally should be picked while they are green but mature.

Pomelo

Pomelo tree is doing better, it has hundreds and hundreds of flowers and small fruits to start off, but only three pomelos survived, but they are doing well, and the size is more prominent than last year.

These fruit trees have their rest, apple, crab apples, they will give us beautiful blossom in spring, and a potted fig has lost its leaves but one fruit still remaining.  I am not sure to pick the fig or to leave it.

Winter is cold and some time is gloomy as the sun is not out, but we can rely on to the citruses especially the lemons, they are the light of the season, yellow, bright and beautiful.

Hot Tea and Lime,  a treat for a cold winter afternoon.

It is cold outside, but we can celebrate the winter so many ways, keep warm, be busy and stay healthy.

Have a Good Weekend.
