No Car

No Car and Stay In.

Any change and being able to adapt what is happening around you is so significant.  Never take things for granted, there may be only a small thing that you want to do,  but it cannot be done.

In my case, the car was in the garage for a small repair, we had no transport for a couple of days, even though we are organised enough in terms of supplying the daily needs,  but some things were still missing.  Oh yes, we needed this and that, we could get those from the shop, but ...  there's no car, no transport.  Stay put at home and go with what is there, particularly in cooking,  what you need is to be creative and good at improvising.

No Bread, No Butter but Time.   That day, an instant hot lunch was cooked - delicious pumpkin cobbler.  Being resourceful and using what is available at home is excellent, the homemade pumpkin soup was there and ready to use for further cooking.  Pumpkin soup, flour Parmesan cheese and olive oil, they made a delicious and flavoursome cobbler.

Baked Savoury Pumpkin Cobbler

I thought and remembered of the dish which is a dessert-sweet cobbler (British American colonies-American cooking), on which my cuisine of savoury pumpkin cobbler was based.  It worked well.

A salad was not served as there were no salads mix in the refrigerator, but it was not missed as the dish was almost a meal in itself.

The time is there, and cooking is the first priority, then there are no excuses not to do it, what you need is a good imagination, and enjoy cooking in the kitchen.
Nothing's Real But Home Cooking

It is a midweek already, enjoy, and if you have time to have fun in the kitchen, happy cooking.  But it is also good to give yourself a treat to dine out.

Thanks For Visiting
Until Next Post
