Lots Of Harvests

The Harvest from the vegetable patch this year is mainly the cherry tomato. The potted  Roma tomato is doing well, I must say.

Herbs are always there and the spinach, rocket, have been so good, for our salads.
The hot chilli plants are flowering, and the eggplant is flourishing, growing beautifully hopefully will have fruit in two months.
Planting vegetables is not the priority this time, some works have to be done and to be attended in the garden.  There are plants in my vegetable garden but a little harvest.  For the consolation, I love to see and to look at the pictures of the crops in the past.

It was so good to have those vegetable plants and self-seeds pumpkin plant, in fact, we had a few pumpkins to harvest, and there were shared with friends.

The most massive pumpkin weights at 4.3 kg.

The tips for you about cooking a pumpkin, it is deliciously roasted.  It made yummy roasted pumpkin soup, garnished with fresh ricotta and herbs.  Also, it is excellent for a soup garnished with roasted kiwi fruit, the tart of the kiwi goes well with the sweetness of the pumpkin.

Cabbage and Other Harvests
Red cabbage and green Savoy cabbage we love, they are suitable for a fresh salad, good to cook by braising or sauteing.  My experience of planting cabbages was enjoyable, even though it's challenging.

Time well spent in the garden, harvested fresh produce for the family, a priceless reward.  You got to live to love and to be busy.  Time is the best friend and can be generous if you respect it, and use it correctly.  Look what I got,  beautiful fresh food from the garden.

I could not believe that all of this fresh produce was harvested from my garden. Zucchini, cabbages, spaghetti squash, eggplant, lettuces.  Also fruits from the backyard, lovely nectarines, apples, mandarins, lemons and limes.  And the best part is the herb plants that I use to add to my daily cooking.

Cooking with herbs is delightful, garnishing with herbs is beautiful.

Looking around the garden and collecting wild edible flavours, that's often I do.

Christmas is the time to play with fresh herbs.  Use them for flavour and to dress up Our Grand Turkey with.  Is'snit looking so festive?

Fruit Harvest
Enjoying the harvest, both of us, and was looking forward to eating the fruits, so fresh.
Baking and preserving food was good fun, the poached apple ball in red wine syrup was successful, and it's excellent for garnishing cakes.

I made preserved lemon, lime, and olives.  We are not good gardeners but keen enough to garden, and look at the result, Not Bad At All!

Herbs and Olives
Use fresh herbs, dried herbs and preserved olives.  It's a shame that the olive tree got chopped off now, and it becomes a topiary lookalike.  Anyway, I have preserved the olive, learnt the process of preserving but not accessible. This coming year or in the future, I don't think we will have any olives, but it is OK with me.

The herb harvest for the dried herb.  Lovely!

Freshly Picked Herbs and the Bag made out of cloth material for the herbs stay fresh. Keep in the refrigerator.  It's neat and clean!
A Cloth Bag to Keep Fresh herbs

It is good to look back at the harvests of the garden.  Amazing to think that I have done so much in the garden and enjoyed the rewards.  Lots of Harvests!  The best of the investment of my time of all!

A Pretty bag, made out of cloth to keep fresh herbs, what do you think?
