Potted Fruit Trees.

The New Year, a New Style for My Blog Format???
The blog has been viewed over one hundred thousand times since I had started, so it pleases me indeed. It would be more exciting to read comments from the visitors; unfortunately, it's only a few, that is alright. I have not decided yet, though, is it worth it to start all over?

The post for today.
The joy to be working in the garden, having the garden and getting the reward today, I could not help to share the experience with you.  Here it is ' the harvest of my potted fruit plant.'

The Harvest
For the first time to harvest my Angle Peach, one of my potted plants which I got last year, I bought the plant with thirteen tiny fruits already.  I did not expect the plant to grow well, especially in a pot, but it is easy to care, I  must remember to keep the soil stay moist at all time.  I picked two fruits earlier, and it was too soon.
It could have been harvesting ten fruits today instead of nine because the blackbird took his share.
The proud gardener
The plant sits in the front of the Wisteria tree, I put it there with the hope that the Wisteria will protect the plant from the wind, and also at that spot gets the morning sun too.  It's the right place for it.  Since I have found out that the bird had tried to have a taste, action had to be taken.  I put a net to cover the plant, and from a distance, it reminds me of my childhood bedroom, my bed, and it's mosquito net.  You do need one of those to live in the Tropic.

There are more potted fruit plants and are well protected from the birds with the net.
When I was fixing the net, I thought of my youngest daughter Susan.
One day, she said, we have to share, the bird should be allowed to have some too. She's so kind and generous, so her big sisters.
I am blessed to have kind and generous girls.

Potted Trees-Potted Plants
The Potted Fig - Brown Turkey
It works well for me to have the fig tree in a pot, it could grow massive to plant in the ground.  Potted fig tree could bear the fruit quickly, you do not wait for a long time to have the fruits.
They were twenty - four fig fruits, but one fell off the tree while I was fixing the net.  Hope for the best that I could harvest them all.

Potted Apple
Another potted fruit tree needs the protection as well, it is the espalier fuji apple.  Three apples so far that the birds enjoyed harvesting, they are always a step ahead of us.  Too smart!

All old table cloth comes to better use, just as well they kept well.  Within three months to four, these beautiful little nuggets will ripen, with a reddish look.

Mama in the Garden
A few hours in the garden without knowing, it's almost morning tea time and realising there's no food at all. Checked the storage, everything was there to make pancakes.  Blueberry pancake for the gods? Only a genius can create deliciously treat and ready in no time. Instead of late morning tea really, but luckily the voluntary was readily there to whip the cream.  Soon we had the pancakes.
This happens to any family I am sure, when mama is busy, anywhere and everywhere, the well being of the family is well looked after, the family never miss out a thing.  Viva Mama!
Papa in the garden is a different story, he would work very hard, and a lot of time he does not know when to stop, but water or drinks are offered, and he would be pleased.  No, he does not expect any of those, but he understands though, drinking is healthy while physically work hard.
The whipped of instant pancakes naturally from the fresh ingredients were delightfully sweet.  All the gods were nourished, and some leftover for the next day.

Pancake keeps well in the refrigerator for overnight, before serving reheat for 1 minute every five small pancakes before you dress them.  The leftover pancakes were served the following day.
Blueberry pancakes with fresh fruit topping and served with whipped cream.
The pancakes were lavishly dressed, first spread with my homemade strawberry jam, and were topped with mango, raspberry, blueberry, white nectarine and segment of orange.

It was a beautiful harvest day and looking forward to harvesting the fruits of the potted fig and apple.

The fresh Angel Peach my first harvest was sweet, juicy and delicious.
I recommend to everyone, do have potted fruit trees they are so friendly, generous, easy to care for
