VIOLET

Beautiful flower English Violets are found everywhere in our garden, on the flower bed, on the gravels, they are so pretty adorning the place in the winter.  Even the potted violet celebrates the season.

These flowers are tiny, delicate, and the colour is absolutely gorgeous. Is it purple, blue or lilac?

The flower is edible, cut them to add to a salad mix, and the petal could be sugared and use for garnishes and cake decoration.

Pick violet flowers while still in buds or in full bloom at your choice, and place them in a small vase, it is so pretty.  The flower won't stay long though but is worth it.

Information about Violet.
JustFunFact.

Violets contain substances such as anthocyanins and cyclotides, which act as antioxidants and show anti-microbial and anti-viral properties.
The Ancient Greeks and the Romans used Violets for all sorts of things such as herbal remedies, wine
(‘Vinum Violatum’), to sweeten food and for festivals.
The Ancient Greeks considered the Violet a symbol of fertility and love; they used it in love potions. Pliny recommended that a garland of violets be worn above the head to ward off headaches and dizzy spells.
Napoleon Bonaparte declared Violets his own signature flower and used the blooms to cover his wife Josephine’s grave when she died in 1814. In fact, he was called Corporal Violet by friends, after promising them he would return from his exile on Elba before the violet season. Bonaparte’s supporters even used violets to determine if someone was loyal to him, by asking them if they liked the flowers – only a response of “Eh, been” proved loyalty.
The violet is the official flower for February.
The word ‘Violet’ comes from the Latin name ‘Viola’. (Based on justfunfacts.com)
Fresh Violet Flowers to Garnish the Cake
I am pleased to have the violet flowers in my garden, only, I have to watch the plants not growing wildly; otherwise, it is so pretty, also an excellent remedy for a sure thing, and useful for our being.

The coldness of winter hits me every time to be outside, it is unpleasant, just like today while picking the pretty violet.   Courage! Be Brave.

Getting ready to prepare sugared violet petals, first, pick the best flowers, wash, pat them to dry correctly.

A dear friend of mine is turning 94, yes, ninety-four years old this month and she is still living by herself in her own home.  Amazing! The sugared violet petal can be very handy for her special cake.

If you love violet flowers for your garden, it is easy to plant and to care for.  Why don't you try to have them?  Maybe you could enjoy the taste of the flowers to add to salads and use them for other garnishes Of course, the flowers are beautiful for cutting to put in your small vases.
Violet Is Purple or Blue?  It is Beautiful.
