It is winter, so cold outside and sometimes also very windy. Most of the outdoor plants survive well, but as you know, some plants cannot stand the frost. The orchids are happy enough sitting under the eves, but the orchids which are in buds need tender loving care, they have to be moved to the house. From outdoor living to indoor living, however, they have adjusted very well, the buds are getting larger every day, and they are looking alright.
The cleaning inside the house was taking place, by the time to reach the area where the indoor plants live, I noticed that there were aphids or eggs of some sort cling on to the buds of the orchid, 😕absolutely shocking. Not knowing what to do, and being panicky did not help at all.
Spray for insects, fertilisers and all garden's needs are there for me. No, I don't think I need them, but to clean them with warm water mixed with detergent and use my hand to apply them with soft tissue may just enough.
It worked, all the nasty creatures now no longer there and hope they don't come back. Where did they come from, luckily the plant next to it that's the Fiddle Leaf Fig tree is undisturbed, stands firm and no insects or aphids, or eggs cling on to the plant.
The buds are clean now and looking healthy. Looking forward to the bloom. |
It has been a year the orchids had no sign of growth, but now two new growth, new stems, maybe flower for this coming year.
Six Phalaenopsis are resting, the leaves are there, and only recently new leaves are coming up.
I am not sure that I understand and am good at looking after these orchids. The cymbidium is, robust and very forgiving. Even though this year lots of them don't flower enough, only a few.
Two plants are in buds, sitting indoors in the warm place., they are well protected.
Under the table, she lives, and at present, she is showing off the beautiful flowers.

Another Cymbidium, the buds are growing well, the plant loves where it sits, it closes by the window.
Cymbidium Tracyanum with its buds. |
Special attention everyone needs, so the living plants, so far, the best care is given, and the only best thing is happening. That what supposed to be.
Yes, it is cold outside, but remember it is late winter, soon will spring the new season. Do these plants stay indoors? Some of them to stay in, but the orchids after finished flowering, they will be taken outside and sits under the eves.
Caring for the plants with kindness, they will flourish.
Let us be grateful to people who make us happy; they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. Marcel Proust.
Thanks for Visting.
