Food Preparations


It is Fun, to Cook, to Serve and to Share.

Soto is Javanese soup.  It takes time to prepare the soup and followed by the actual serving the dish.

Sandwiches-Pretty Sandwiches.  We love our finger sandwiches
Decision making about the filling and what bread that we are going to use is necessary as white or brown bread carries its own weight.
 Saffron to add to the egg mixture for the sandwich filling.

Rice Cone with Vegetables for a Celebration.  You don't need to cook a lot of rice, particularly you are only preparing for six people.  To have this tall and large Cone, raise the platter with a stand, and place the rice cone on top, to make the cone looks tall.

Creative Cooking.
An exciting shopping, a particular cut to be found in the supermarket, "fresh turkey wing".  Took them home, and planning what were we going to do with them.  It's a challenge, but it was great.

Baking

Bread what we love, but no such bread in this Town.  Be brave and Bake!

Another baking for a special bread:  Fougasse with Olives, beautiful bread originally from Provence 

The Pink Cake
Bake the cake yearly, butter cakes. Thinking of my mother, my sister, all the ladies.  With Love!


A gift for the family.
Fruit cake, beautifully baked and preserved well by adding a lot of brandy and whiskey.    A well-prepared baked fruit cake to share with family overseas.
Somehow it needed a special presentation to make it festive:  fresh berries for the garnish.

Morning Tea with Friends
Baked scones, keep in the freezer to stay fresh to save time and energy.  The morning Do, take them out and put in a hot oven to for a few minutes to refresh.  Proper preparation goes a long way.  Now the scones are ready to be dressed and to be served.  

  

Vegetables
Salads for our table.  Collect all the leafy lettuces, washed and get rid off the water access.  Keep in a container and refrigerated.  It is ready to be dressed at any time is needed.


Investing time, diligent in organising the tasks that have to be done is the key to success.  I am so blessed to be able to manage, and thanks to my family, the food prep can be fun.

Dealing with food can be so daunting if we don't use it, familiarisation is a good start.
