Delightful Feast With Family.
We celebrate Christmas 2017 at home with our family, not everyone was home, but we were blessed to have our daughter Sussan, her husband Tristan and their dog Alfie on Boxing Day. It was not a full gathering for all in our family, but their stay was peaceful, and how glad I was to see they were home and able to rest.
We caught up well, sharing stories and news, they visited the old album to look back was fun.
Spending a little time in the garden was good enough, as the hot wheater was not friendly, too hot to be outside. I got it ready for the girls to come home, I made sure the garden be clean and beautiful. Indeed it was almost impeccable. It's even better as lots of flowers are in full bloom.
The Christmas Day was just the two of us, it was quiet, restful, and celebrate the day with listening to beautiful music while the Christmas dinner was being prepared. The Theme was Crystal Clear. It went well, we did enjoy the day, the gift, the food and the company. It topped up by phone calls/Facetime from other children and family. No, it was busy, talking to the grandkids they were chatty and telling us all about the Christmas gift s and so forth. We were at home, but we could see far away places, the world is small indeed. It was a Glorious day for us both.
The Christmas Dinner was after twelve noon. The table looks bright with the glassware, which represents the crystal. The white lace-cap Hydrangea adorned the table, and the food was excellent, light especially for us.
It was delightful, and was almost a daily occurrence, very casual. That's made the Day.

The Boxing Day Feast
Thanks, Susan, the lobster rolls were lovely, and the Champagne complimented them perfectly.
The atmosphere is different while we don't have little children around. So it was, we did what we wanted to do, there were no games after dinner, but we talked and talked, a good conversation went along so well. We learnt one another a lot more without knowing it, that was great. Time went so fast if we had a good time, soon the children will be driving back to Melbourne, thank goodness for the cooled changed a few days after the boxing day. We could rest better, concentrate better, reading could be done with ease and serving on the Net for further amusement was no trouble. Everyone was so comfortable with their own devices, as, for me, Javanese dinner has to be organised and prepared for our dinner. I thought it's so appropriate to cook the food that I love the most. Javanese style chicken curry, hot chilli prawns in coconut milk (sambal goreng), braised beef and egg in sweet soy, and acar-pickled cucumber. These delicious dishes were complemented with steamed white rice. I did not worry about desserts, they were plenty of fresh fruits afterwards.
Javanese Food-Hot and Sweet
There we were, spending time over dinner once more. The children wished to leave at seven in the evening, they did, Alfie was so excited walking toward the car, he knew he was going home. Two hours later we got a message: "got home safely, thank you, mum and dad" So sweet and It was so pleasing to get it. The house was so empty suddenly, I could feel it right through my bones, and kind of loneliness was creeping at me.t's the same thing when the grandkids left the house, missing them straight away. It could be the problem of being an older person. Thanking you all for coming home, always.
Having the family at home together is very special, mainly feasting in the festive season.
Feasting, to celebrate Christmas is always joyful, being together with family is precious. Sharing, having good food, talking and laughing, we are good at. Indeed we had the feast with grandness, but practicality still took place, using paper napkins instead of the cloth one and a lot more. It's Us.
That was Our Christmas 2017. Full of Joy, We Enjoyed the Festivity and The Feast.
We had a Happy Christmas.
Now, we can look forward to next Christmas, one year is not a long time. We shall have another feasting with the family.
