ROSES, HOYA, 2020

The addition of roses in my garden, the Kordes Roses are doing very well, they are growing in pots but eventually will be planted in the ground.  The weather has been cool and also we had a little rain lately which helped these roses flourishing.  Other roses in the garden are right too.

The standards Pierre de Ronsard are settling beautifully in pots, and now they are flowering too.  The tree doesn't look that pretty just yet, the look is unshaped, the brunches grow one side only.  They are stack with a sturdy stick, but I could do better, so far I don't think I did it well. Pleased with the weeping standard, which is doing alright, the growth of the new leaves are so evident, green and healthy.

Wait until they are well established, I guess, to see their beauty, the strength and the perfect shape.

Other roses plants are flowering again after light pruning in summer, as I know the second flowering is not the same as the first, regardless they are looking good in the garden.

The Lady Gardener Rose
David Austin Rose -The Lady Gardener to add in my garden, of late has settled well, it is flourishing and also flowering.  I was taken by the name, The Lady Gardener, what a name, so appropriate to have I thought.  At the time only wilted flowers on the plant, so I was not sure about the colour. I love her even more now, the flower is so pretty peach with a touch of pink.

Once during the hot day this summer, they were watered well, and applying fertiliser has to be done soon.  Summer job for the roses!

Flower Plants in Pots, 2020
Other flowering plants that I am proud of are the Hoya Plants.  They are flowering beautifully and at the moment are at their best.

Hoya Carnosa
Two Hoya Plants have lots of flowers, soon will look spectacular while they are in full bloom.

Hoya flower is beautiful and delicate.

The details, looking at the flowers closely.

Another Hoya Carnosa plant, flowering beautifully this year.

The flowers appear and stay looking down naturally, and why (my question).  They look much better facing forward so they can be seen better.  I have been trying so hard to train them to meet-face us instead of looking down, and it is not easy as the buds are brittle.  Maybe you people out there have a better idea the right technique how to do.

A chilly morning today at my part of the world, it is agreeable indeed for the roses, hoya and for the garden, all gardens.

The Colours of Summer.

There are beautifully bright colours at summertime, we must celebrate, dressed up with confident-the bold colour fits it perfectly.  Not only the colour itself but the presence of the Sun which shines upon us almost daily, lift our spirits up high.  Often lots of rain pouring slowly and the sun hides behind the cloud at a time, can be rather sad and boring.  However, the warm air stays in summer that helps us do a friendly and challenging activity.  Say, lots we could be doing; summer in the garden,  summer cooking, summer holiday, summer sports and so forth, that's all fun to do.

Food for Summer
Colourful and Beautiful
Fresh Food, Fresh Drink and Fresh Fruits

Gulai Kambing Javanese Style-Goat Curry
Excellent Summer Dish. It served throughout the year.

In my kitchen, - the way I cook the Gulai Kambing.
I braised the whole goat leg with stock and spices over low heat for a few hours.  The juice makes a creamy sauce, especially after it is added with coconut milk.

The Spices
The cooking of spices paste-6 minutes and the braising of the goat leg takes time.

The second braising: meat is tender, pulled off the bone, chopped into small pieces and added with coconut milk. ( I added tomato and red capsicum sauce for extra colour).
Beautiful looking curry, the sauce is so creamy, the vibrant colour
of the spice paste mixed with the coconut milk comes out beautifully
Colourful fresh fruits, summer fruit salad and tropical fruits

Colourful food for snacking, bright rice, noodles, juicy and pink tender meat, sweets cakes.
A tip for carving and serving the duck.  Cooked and keep it cold in the refrigerator.  The day you want to eat, cut the cold duck, and crips the pieces under the grill before serving.  Easy!

Fresh Salads

Summer Colours.
Summer in the garden is warm love and enjoy the flowers which are in bloom.  Sitting and relaxing outside and appreciate the beauty of nature. We are blessed with cut flowers throughout the season.
The summer heat is intense and too dry in Australia. But I don't want to emphasise that the beauty of summer colour is the focus.
To have the fresh air during the summertime, eating and drinking herbal tea in the backyard is an enjoyable past time.

Summer Sports, and Summer Holiday
Summer sports are varied. Going to the beach spending time with children and grandchildren to holidaying together is the best quality time to have.
Also, enjoy watching tennis games, or Cricket match that's the sports, all the fun things to make the best of a colourful summer.
People do shopping at summertime, the bright colour is the mark of the season. New clothing, apparel, must-have, shopping is sweet.  One could not resist the beauty of summer colour.  Look at these scarves, delightfully warm in colour but fresh-cool to wear throughout the season.

Bright Colours represent happiness, hope you have All, Everyone!

Get in touch with family and friends, write a handwritten letter instead of email, share the time over a cuppa with others to add the colour of summer!  It's a lovely time.
