FROSTY MORNING

A freezing Sunday morning,  opened the kitchen window the rituals for getting the fresh air in but I could see the grass was covered by ice; indeed it was frosty and cold.  Still, the morning cools the air coming in the house for freshness.

Rayner cut the grass the day before, so it is alright but different as the frost with white look dressed the tip of the green, sit and spread on top of the lawn, It's a pretty sight but cold.

Most of the time, a morning frost is followed by a lovely sunny day even though it is cold it gives you a clean feeling, There is no excuse not to be outside working in the garden.   Winter gardening is not a chore, in fact, could be pleasant.

Pruning roses which I love very much to be finished and done by the end of the week, so far twenty-two have been done.

A late afternoon today in the garden, another pruning roses, five standards, eight rose buses and three ground cover, all were done.  A few more to go.

  

The Orchids

The cymbidium is sitting outside in the cold air, and the frost won't be any good for them, particularly the spikes could be damaged by.  Seven plants have spikes, and the buds are big enough, it is the right time now to be moving in the house.

These orchid plants are sitting under the Eaves, and they are alright, there are no signed of damaged by the frosts.  The leaves are looking good too.

A few potted plants are having frost burned, nothing that we could do, hopefully, they will be alright by springtime/

Winter is cold outside, the garden looks gloomy at times.

I could tell the loneliness of the garden, it is so empty, only the outdoor settings faithfully sitting there but unused.  The deciduous trees are happily sleeping, but the weeds are living and growing unnoticed, the frost comes and goes, that is winter to us.

We shall celebrate the frost, It is useful for some, it creates the coolness in the surrounding, and the cold generates comforts to us all who love the clean, crisp and fresh air.   

Today, after a very frosty morning, the whole day was bright and sunny.  Indeed it has been a cold day since I hope everyone enjoys the warm and cosy room inside the house this evening.
