Spring (Continued)

Beautiful Spring Time.
The rains and the warm weather in the past few days helped the garden grow faster, the wisteria, the crab apple trees almost start blossoming, and the roses are showing small buds,  more new leaves, more flowers everywhere, spring has indeed sprung.

The new look, early Spring 2013

Limes
I picked the last limes off the tree today, and they all become yellow colour, and some of them are very large.  They do look like lemons, but taste like lime.  There are a lot of flowers coming for the next crop.
Yellow and Large Limes
Should I harvest them all at once, never keep them on a tree, to get the green limes???

The vegetable patch is full of herbs, mints, chives, coriander, dill, lamb lettuce, carrots that are not doing very well but the leaves are looking so rich.  Last but not least are the sorrel plants which have been so good growing for years.

Spring in the backyard,  so far so good.

Orchids
For the late bloomer orchids, the budding cymbidium little miss Muffet, bull barrow and cascading cymbidium (what I thought to be) is sitting inside the house.  At the moment we are living in a green and colourful forest, as the last winter's flowering orchids are still there, in two weeks these orchids will be in full blooms.

This morning I tried to do a good deed for the orchids, to put some sticks to make the orchids stand better; instead, I broke one of the stems, oh no, very disappointing!. Now I remember the advice of Irene: she said I should not tamper with the young orchid buds.

In the Front Yard
The garden is neat enough, fertilising needs to be done, that's what I did the other day.  The Japanese maples will be looking beautiful when they come back.

The white begonia along the fence are shooting back, and the camellia is looking so lush with their shiny leaves.

Potted plants are doing alright, soon the front yard will be delightful too.

This is Spring in the garden so far.  Happy gardening to you all.

Until Next Post
Thanks for visiting
