Jam - Fresh Herbs

Strawberry Jam.
Homemade jam can be easily made in a microwave oven, it takes for three minutes to make half a cup of rich, luscious strawberry jam.  Of course, everyone knows the capacity of their microwave, any adjustment has to be made if you wish to follow my recipe.

The luscious strawberry jam.
Jam cooked in Microwave.

Home Made Strawberry Jam
6 large very ripe red strawberries
3/4 cup white sugar
Juice of 1/2 very juicy lime or lemon

Step by Step for Jam making in Microwave Oven
Crushed strawberries, sugar, lime juice, rest for 1 hour

Stir the strawberries mixture, make sure that the sugar all is dissolved
Transfer to a ceramic bowl to cook

Put in the microwave to cook for 1 minute in high setting
Take it out and stir it properly, and put it back and cook for 2 minutes.
You have to be there to watch until the mixture is bubbling but don't let
it to overflow, open the oven, stir and close again and repeat the process within
the two minutes.

Take it out, stir it again, and  take some of the jam, place in a spoon
let it cool to check that the jam is set.
The jam sets beautifully, a little soft, but this is the way I like it.
The jam is cold and ready to serve

Herbs
Fresh herbs play a big part in my cooking, and I have them growing in my garden.  Herbs add flavours to stew, salads and any savouries scones and pies.  They don't stop there in my kitchen, herbs can be used for garnishes etc.  Fresh garlic chive, is excellent to add to salads, omelette, soup, but I use it for tying pancake rolls and club sandwiches for secure handling.

Garlic chives are in flowers, they are delicious to add in savouries scones, garlic butter, and beautiful for garnishes.
Take some fresh garlic chive leaves, blanch them in hot water,  use them as strings.

Sandwiches and pancake roll are ready to serve, they look very well presented.

Enjoy the jam making, and have fun to start herb garden if you wish to have one, or simply to fix potted herbs which are suitable for the need of your cooking.
